Kunzite is a gemstone that is characterized by its "phosphorescence," which means that it emits light when placed in a dark place after being exposed to sunlight, like diamonds, and its "pleochroism," which means that its color changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed. Its Japanese name is "lithium pyroxene."
